Maslin did not train at Kindra Park on Thursday night due to hamstring tightness and will remain sidelined for another week.
Originally the Hoppers planned to bring him back in for the important showdown with the Lions, subject to a fitness test at training.
Coolamon co-coach Jamie Maddox said the decision was made on Wednesday night not to risk the first-year Hoppers forward.
"We called it on Wednesday night, he was still tight so there is no point risking it," Maddox said.
"We've got Mango next week so we're hopeful he'll be right for that but we're going to err on the side of caution with him."
Maslin has not played since Coolamon's round seven win over Collingullie-Glenfield Park.
Injuries have restricted him to just three games, where he has kicked 13 goals.
It is Maslin's first year back playing after a number of seasons off.
