Here is a list of activities, all in one place, which might make it a bit easier to fend off any holiday boredom.
1. Jackdaw Film Series presents Just for Kids
Escape the chilly winter air and explore a world of great films as the Art Gallery is transformed into a lounge-style cinémathèque - complete with massive digital surround sound for the full big screen experience.
This is a free holiday program specially curated for children of all ages - the young and the young at heart.
From July 17 to 19, they will be screening six films over three days featuring a fresh collection of innovative animation and live action family classics.
It's free entry, and no bookings are required.
2. Oasis School Holiday Program
Pretend it's summer again and splash around.
Staff are running activities in Bolton Park Stadium and inflatables at the Oasis Aquatic Centre.
Activities are on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 9am to 12pm.
3. Library School Holiday Program
Jacqui Love was a senior zookeeper at Sydney's Taronga Zoo and has a passion for mini-beasts that is infectious.
Her workshops offer a hands-on introduction to the world of creepy crawlies, perfect for the little scientist in any family.
Children will have the chance to learn all about the vast lives of Australia's fantastic mini-beasts, plus the opportunity to handle them.
Workshop participants must be aged five - twelve years to attend. The ticket gets one child and one adult into one session. Bookings are essential, and tickets are $10 - Call 6926 9700 for details.
4. Junior Chefs Afternoon Class
On July 15, children aged eight to 12 can be a Junior Master Chef. Those aged 13 to 16 can have their turn on July 16.
These classes are both fun and educational, where students get to roll up their sleeves and create tasty dishes that they will re-create at home. Tickets are $60 and include tuition, recipes and meal.

5. Horse Riding Program
No matter how little or how much experience your child has when it comes to horse riding, the Belisi Wellbeing and Equestrian Centre offers a fun day for all.
The program offers lots of activities including horse safety, horse care and horse riding. Children are welcome to come along for half days, one day, two days or every day - minimum age of six years.
