The first half was cut short by a couple of minutes and the resumption delayed by over half an hour as the imposing centre waited for medial attention.
The serious injury cast a shadow over what wasn't the best day for the club.
The Bulls struggled early in the clash at Laurie Daley Oval before three late tries saved their blushes.
Captain-coach Kyle McCarthy admitted the 26-12 win was far from the side's best performance and it was only compounded by O'Sullivan's injury.
"It (the injury) was pretty disheartening and put a dampener on the day and ended a pretty bad first half," McCarthy said.
The Diesels have the advantage of the strong breeze in the first half and took a 6-4 lead into the break after Trent Schubach answered an early try from O'Sullivan.
Tim Hurst hit back for the Bulls four minutes into the second half only for Simione Naiduki to crash over to put the Diesels back in front in the 48th minute.
Junee were still leading midway through the second half before a late double to Mitch Bennett changed the game.
Bennett crossed for his first to put the Bulls up with 13 minutes to play before Harry Lucas quickly extended their lead.
The Bulls centre then ensured their ninth win of the season after crossing with two minutes to play.
McCarthy thought his team struggled to deal with the windy and wet conditions in Junee.
"They had a very stiff breeze in the first half and we struggled to get out of our own end with our kicks and turned the ball over a fair bit," he said.
"In the second half we had the wind but it probably took us 20 minutes to get used to it but in the back end of the half we found our feet to run away with it."
O'Sullivan's injury adds to a list of Bulls big names on the sidelines.
Fullback Jake Dooley, nor Diesels counterpart Daniel Foley, lined up on Saturday while Nathan Rose and Nick Skinner both missed another match.
Dooley is heading overseas and will miss the next fortnight and neither Rose nor Skinner are expected to tackle winless Cootamundra next week.
McCarthy is trying to work out how best to work their back line with O'Sullivan's injury thrown into the mix as well.
Joel Tye played at fullback while Brody Tracy filled in for O'Sullivan and McCarthy is confident the club has good depth with their reserve grade side on top of the ladder.
