THE Temora Kangaroos remain bullish about their hopes of making an impression come finals after an understrength side proved no match for Riverina League heavyweights Charles Sturt University on Saturday.

Missing form young shooters Halle Derrick and Abbey Reinhold due to basketball commitments, the Roos couldn't keep pace with a second-placed Bushsows outfit in a 76-33 loss.
Second-placed CSU improved its record to 8-1, while fourth-placed Temora (6-3) is still well entrenched in the top five.
"We didn't have our best shooters so we had to completely reshuffle our midcourt and bring up one of the girls from reserves," Pike said.
"We went into the game with a few injuries as well and we knew we had a tough games on our hands, let alone being without our full compliment.
"Their shooting percentage was amazing and they're a very well drilled side, but hopefully we're lucky enough to play them again in finals and can show them what we've got."
After the bye this week Temora plays Coleambally, also with a 6-3 record, in a vital clash in the race for a top three berth.
"We've got a few girls out the next couple of rounds so hopefully we can pull through and get some crucial wins," Pike said.
In other matches North Wagga moved two games clear in fifth with a 65-53 win over Barellan, Coleambally hammered East Wagga Kooringal 64-37 and The Rock-Yerong Creek continued their unbeaten title defence with a 65-23 victory over Northern Jets.
