Driscoll's promising season was brought to a screaming halt last Sunday when he suffered a broken arm in Tigers' big win over Coolamon at Kindra Park.
Driscoll underwent surgery on Tuesday where he had plates and screws inserted after scans revealed breaks in both his ulna and radius.
He will visit the surgeon next week to determine the plan for his rehabilitation but early indications are that Driscoll will miss eight to 12 weeks.
Driscoll has not given up on this season despite the injury and wants to be back in action in time to play a part in a potential Tigers' finals campaign.
"It's hard to know at this stage. I'll talk to the surgeon and see what they say," Driscoll said.
"It depends on when they want me to get the screws and plates out but if it comes to finals, I'm happy to play with them in and get them out in summer."
Wagga Tigers coach Troy Maiden is most disappointed for Driscoll, who had enjoyed a busy season up until Sunday's injury.
"I'm really disappointed for Shaun," he said.
"He was really good for us last week and has aspirations to play footy at a high level and has been playing NEAFL for the Giants.
"Hopefully he can get back late in the season."
Driscoll, 19, spent the early part of the season with the Giants Academy as one of their eligible over-age players.
He then played two NEAFL games for the Giants against Brisbane and Gold Coast, where he had a combined total of 20 disposals.
Driscoll is a player the Giants have a lot of time for and have used on 16 occasions over the past three seasons.
The classy young midfielder has conceded his NEAFL season is over after the injury.
"It is disappointing and I've played my last NEAFL game now too I'd say, which is disappointing," Driscoll said.
"It's been good playing NEAFL. Schneids (Adam Schneider) is a good coach so it's been good to play under him."
