Wagga's under 17 and under 15 representative teams have returned home after a strong showing at the Senior State Titles in Sydney over the long weekend.
The under 17 team enjoyed seven wins from 19 games to finish in 13th position out of 20 teams in the championship division.
The under 15 team also notched up seven wins, along with two draws and 10 losses, to finish in 14th position.
Wagga Netball Association president Rosemary Clarke, who coached the under 17s, said both teams did the city proud.
"They should be very proud," Clarke said.
"Both the under 15 and 17s stay in division one, which is what we strive for. We've got the teams in division one and we want to keep them in division one.
"We worked hard to do that and I think our girls appreciated the workload we put in and responded to that."
The under 17 team lost star shooter Sophie Fawns in the week leading up to the titles after she was selected in the Australian squad and had to attend a training camp.
They travelled with a squad of eight players and Clarke was happy with how they performed.
"They played some great netball," she said.
"Probably with Sophie there, they would have finished top 10."
Wagga's under 13 representative team will also take part in the championship division at the Junior State Titles, to be held from July 6-8.
Meantime, there was plenty of success for neighbouring Riverina associations at the Senior State Titles.
Barellan and District Netball Association's under 17 team won division two.
Barellen went through their 19 games undefeated to book their place in the championship division for next year.
Barellan had one draw, against Muswellbrook, to end the opening day but won their other 17 games to finish on top.
West Wyalong's under 17 representative team won division four, with Narrandera finishing runner up.
West Wyalong won 13 of their 18 games, to finish just ahead of Narrandera, who won 12 and also had a draw.
West Wyalong also won division four of under 15s.
Clarke said it was a brilliant effort from the entire region.
"The associations from across the Riverina performed really well," she said.
"There is a lot of talent in the Riverina at the moment."
