Riverina Police District Inspector Peter McLay said a 43-year-old woman was charged with assault occasioning bodily harm on another woman on Friday night.
"Police will allege the 43-year-old female used a schooner glass to assault the 42-year-old by striking her over the head," he said.
"I'd say alcohol clearly was a factor.
"Operation Pariac was designed to detect and eliminate these sorts of things from occurring."
The woman will appear at court at a later date.
Inspector McLay said over the weekend police conducted Operation Pariac, aimed at detecting alcohol-related crime and dealing with incidents around licensed premises.
Police conducted 76 inspections of licensed premises around the district in two nights with one infringement notice issued.
Five people were issued infringement notices and a fine of $550 for failing to leave the vicinity of a premises.
