Following on from Do's shows on Thursday and Friday, the Civic Theatre will serve up 10 comedy acts from 13 to 15 June.
Riverina Comedy Club member and festival emcee Dave Cunneen said the group's comedians made the most of the different format.
"Unlike our usual monthly show, this really gives local comedian the opportunity to branch out into 10, 12, sometimes 15-minute sets.
"At the local shows, you get a taste of what the guys and girls are about but this is an opportunity to really get to know them and their life story and just have a great laugh."
The 2019 Wagga Comedy Fest, which features Becky Lucas, Lano & Woodley, Luke McGregor, Mel Buttle, the Melbourne International Comedy Festival roadshow, Randy the puppet, Rhys Nicholson, The Chaser and the Riverina Comedy Club.
The popular Winter Markets will also be back again, with hot food and free laughs on offer.
Wagga Civic Theatre manager Manager Carissa Campbell said the festival's fifth year was bringing back some of the comedians who helped start it all and a few acts from their 'wish list' like The Chaser.
"Every single year has included locals and the best comedians touring around," she said.
"We always try and have a really diverse group of comedians, not just the same-old, same-old but really interesting comedians to the city that you probably wouldn't get to see otherwise."
The festival will also run in the Riverina Playhouse for the first time since its refurbishment.
"It's the perfect venue for comedy," she said.
"So many people who come to the Comedy Fest have never been in this building before and they are always astonished that it was in the middle of Wagga and they didn't even know.":
Mr Cuneen said the Riverina Comedy Club performers were hoping to catch a few minutes with their heroes from the national circuit.
"That's hopefully one of the perks," he said.
"In the limited exposure that I have had to touring comedians, it is such a tight-knit group.
"They're willing to help out when they can, giving good constructive feedback."
