PAH Construction's operation manager Bec Hopper was awarded Business Partner of the Year, which acknowledges those working off-site to run a business within the residential building industry.
"I love the diversity of what each day brings and I am extremely passionate about sharing my knowledge with other women in the construction industry," Mrs Hopper said.
"I am one of a few founding members in the committee for Wagga Women in Construction and this group was formed to assist in breaking down the barriers and coming together to share our knowledge, ideas and tips about all things construction.
"So many women work behind the scenes in their partner's businesses with little to no recognition and navigating the legal requirements, book keeping and accounting is such a mind field.
"I wanted to let other women out there know that they are not alone," she said.
Mrs Hopper and her husband Paul started the business in 2007 and just welcomed their third child.
"Paul and I work hand-in-hand and we're more like a joint partnership, rather than a builder and wife," she said.
"I often get asked how I manage to work alongside my husband all day, but having a career and business you both love...allows us to share a mutual vision and we hold the utmost respect for each other and the roles we play in ensuring the continuing success of our operation.
"Balancing the demands of family life and operating and growing a business is a challenging role, but I believe consistency, dedication and a passion for the industry are what form the foundations of a successful work and life balance for me."
Mrs Hopper said their business model's focus on client transparency is likely what has set them apart from others.
"We're very hands-on and transparent with our clients and our clients like that they deal directly with the builder rather than sales people," she said.
"It's more personalised and we're known for our quality and only custom designed homes, where each and every one of our homes are unique."
