The Commodore Mick Henderson said the team are getting by on a week-to-week basis, a struggle that will only get harder with the winter months promising an even tougher battle.

In August 2018, the club was thrown a lifeline after members votes to remain open and donated more than $15,000.

Denise Flockton, a member of the Bidgee Dragons, attended the meeting and said in the following months the boat club has made tremendous efforts to attract customers.

"Our main concern is that even with the algae cleared, the levels are still too low for us to use," she said.

"There is less incentive for us to go.

"When it used to open on a Saturday we would have breakfast there every week and we would also have our meetings there, now a lot of us aren't in the area."

Ms Flockton said although she is keen to patronise the boat club its opening hours don't suit.

Mr Henderson said they had to sell the entitlements to six poker machines and reduce trading hours in order to keep the club afloat for the winter months.

"We have been trying live music and boat shows," he said.

"We are looking forward to movement on the caravan park and we are waiting on the council to come back on getting water into the lake.

"Our two problems are getting bums on seats ... and we can't commit to plans for the summer without the water levels being up."

Mr Henderson said they have a battle on their hands.
