Jake Wooden warned his players of a danger game against the Two Blues and, in the absence of spearhead Matt Harpley, as well as ruckman Chris Stacey and backmen Liam Pattison and Lachie Pellow, was rapt to see his side fire early on the way to a 12.11 (83) to 7.9 (51) victory.
Five goals to none in the first quarter set up the win and, while Barellan came back before half-time, Temora again made the most of a slight breeze in the third to be more than six goals clear at the last break.
"I built it up during the week that it was a big game. We had four players come in and step up, and that was the difference," Wooden said.
"We got the jump early and that set up the whole day."
Barellan, led by another big game from Ben Maiden off half-back, and forward Matt Wells (three goals) won the second and fourth terms but it wasn't enough.
Will Reinhold's outstanding form for Temora continued, as he also influenced the game across half-back, while Turner as the key forward stood out with a big presence floating between centre-half-forward and deep.
"They killed it. Jacob, it was his best game," Wooden said.
"He just threw everything at it, marked everything and was crashing packs. I asked him during the week to step up with Harps being out and he did."
Temora's fifth win in six games sets up a cracker at North Wagga next week, who are marginally ahead on the ladder, on percentage.
Wooden said Harpley, who suffered a medial injury last week, is unlikely to play against the Saints but the relatively minor injury will be a week-to-week proposition in coming weeks.
However, the Kangaroos have added concerns with midfielder Colby Poole hurting the same knee he's had two reconstructions on. He's hopeful it's not serious but will await a prognosis.
