Queanbeyan ruckman Joseph Tegart has signed with the Kangaroos but will not play until he gets back from an overseas holiday.
Tegart played in Queanbeyan's 2015 premiership and has played 32 senior games at the Tigers after crossing over from Batemans Bay.
Tegart was not planning on playing this season due to his overseas trip but was talked around by Temora, after being put in touch through one of their existing Canberra-based players.
Temora president Peter Gerhard believe Tegart will be a valuable addition at the business end of the season.
"He's a pretty handy player I think," Gerhard said.
"He's overseas for five or six weeks but will then play the rest of the season, including finals, which will be pretty handy."
Temora expect Tegart to be available to face Coleambally on July 6, which will allow him seven games before finals.
The Kangaroos have also added Jordon Wood to their ruck stocks. He has not played for a couple of seasons when last at Northern Jets but the club hopes he can also play a role.
The pair will help cover the loss of Anthony Atkins to Coolamon.
"It's been a bit of a battle to find one," Gerhard said.
"Stace (Chris Stacey) is getting a bit older now and is finding it hard to get through a whole game. We've been using some young kids in the ruck to help out but it's nice to get our hands on a quality player."
Tegart will join Max Richardson, Kieran Shea, Sam Jensen, Charlie Boyton and Jacob Turner in travelling each week from Canberra.
Meantime, Temora will be without full-forward Matt Harpley for Saturday's trip to Barellan.
Harpley will miss this week with a medial knee injury that was aggravated during the final minutes of the 38-point win over Northern Jets last Saturday.
Turner has been named at full-forward and Lachlan McRae in the ruck.
The Kangaroos sit in third position on the ladder with four wins from their opening five games, just a game plus percentage off top spot.
