THREE goals from Sam Stout and a midfield masterclass from up-and-comer Ben Quilter paved the way for Henschke Primary School to secure the Paul Kelly Cup with a 6.10 (46) to 5.7 (37) win over Mater Dei Primary School on Wednesday night.

After a tough second half where just three goals were scored, a long range torpedo goal from Keltonn Lawler sealed Henschke's second crown in three years on a bitterly cold night at Robertson Oval.
State representative Quilter was a class above for the entire contest to lead Henschke to victory, which was redemption after failing to qualify for last year's final.
Henschke led by just one points at half-time and three quarter time, but capitalised on their chances enough in the final term to edge clear.
Defenders Hunter Higgins and Sebit Ngudu were influential for Henschke, as was Matt Kirk in midfield.
"The boys played fantastic on a cold night tonight. It was played in great spirit between the two teams, and it was a great last quarter to finish if off, Henschke coach Paul Jenkins said.
"Ben Quilter's made the state side and he's a gun. He's going to go a long way in football and he's got the right temperament too, he's a great kid to coach."
Jenkins said he told Stout to be aggressive from the outset, a mindset which was rewarded on a night where goals were tough to come by.
"He's a rangy left footer and he's got speed to burn," Jenkins said.
"We told him to go out there and take the game on, which he did."
Henschke will now compete in the state finals, where they will look to secure their first crown since 2015.
"Our mantra is to go out there and have fun and if we get a win along the way, that's great," Jenkins said.
Mater Dei coach Jai Warden said they couldn't find enough holes in Henschke's defence.
"Henschke played well and held us up when we went forward, they have a pretty good backline," he said.
