The Rock-Yerong Creek coach Tom Yates is hoping their breakthrough win at Barellan proves a launching pad for the Pies' season.

After five straight losses, TRYC rode home on the back of an Andy Carey show, as the power forward kicked seven straight goals in the 15.13 (103) to 8.10 (58) victory against the Two Blues.
Carey was a late - and clearly critical - inclusion for the Pies, who were desperate to get their first points of the season, and get off the bottom of the ladder, but hadn't won at Barellan since 2016.
A flying first half, and some wayward kicking from the home side, helped TRYC plot a course towards victory. And a nine-goal lead by three-quarter-time had the result beyond doubt.
"It's more relief than anything because we've been playing some good footy but probably not for four quarters so for the boys to come out and get the job done out there, and we have struggled out there, so it was good," Yates said.
"We've matched other sides but haven't got the results. We've got the belief there that we can put it to anyone but it's a matter of doing it on the day, so hopefully this kick-starts something, definitely."
It was the first time this season the Pies had more goals than behinds on the board by quarter-time, and it helped when Barellan booted 2.7 in the first half.
"We kicked straight and they didn't. The game could have been totally different otherwise. They had nearly the same scoring shots as us for most of the first half," Yates said.
"That's one of the things we've focussed on because we've definitely let ourselves down early in games so it was good to be on the other end of it."
Young Magpies Jack Driscoll, Luke Fellows and Cooper Diessel were among their best along with the experience of Yates, David Pieper, and Carey up forward.
In trying to manage his body this season, Carey was originally going to miss the Barellan game, but answered an SOS from the coach.
"I had a couple of blokes pull out (Jake Gunning and James Scott) and I was madly trying to find someone. He wasn't going to play but I rang him and he said he could... so he come in and kicked seven straight - it was a good day for him," Yates said.
It's not the first good day Carey's had at Barellan. In fact, his first game in the Farrer League was there in 2015, and he kicked six. And this was at least the fourth time he's kicked half a dozen against the Two Blues.
Barellan finished with a five-goal last quarter to bring the margin back under 50 but drop to last on the ladder, swapping spots with TRYC, who are eighth but have the fifth best percentage in the comp.
Will Overs was the pick for the Two Blues in his return from injury. He kicked three goals, as did Darcy McDermott, who's been in a rich vein of form this year.
The Pies tackle CSU next week. With the two sides on one win, it's a big game for both team' hopes of heading towards finals, while Barellan are at home to Temora.
They may lose Nicholas Kruckle though, with a potentially broken finger.
