The only two unbeaten teams left in the Riverina League will go head-to-head at Exies Oval on Saturday.
With Wagga Tigers having played an extra game and sitting on top of the ladder, first position may not be up for grabs just yet but the winner will certainly take early season premiership favouritism.
Coolamon co-coach Jamie Maddox is happy that the Hoppers have found themselves in a position to be playing such a big game but believes the Swans certainly deserve favouritism.
"It's a good chance for our boys but obviously Griffith will be red-hot favourites," Maddox said.
"It's something we spoke about during pre-season, we wanted to have a good start to the year after last year where we were chasing our tail from behind.
"It's going to be tough, playing Griffith in Griffith, but I think we can measure up, for sure."
Griffith will certainly start favourite on Saturday, with the Swans looking to record their eighth consecutive win over the Hoppers.
Coolamon's last win over Griffith was in round 13 of the 2015 season, when successful by 48 points.
Maddox believes Griffith have always proven a tough team to beat.
"I suppose the trip to Griffith is always tough when you play them over there," he said.
"They have always matched up quite well against us in the past, and will again on Saturday. They seem to play pretty well against us, they're up and about and always have a crack."
Maddox believes the depth at Coolamon this season gives him confidence the Hoppers can get one back on Griffith.
"We've got a bit more depth and coverage in certain positions," he said.
"If one player is having a bad day, there are other players that can step up and play that position on any given day."
Helping Griffith's cause will be the return of Ben King for his first game of the season on Saturday. Lucas Conlan is also named to make his first appearance in Swans colours this year.
Griffith will also welcome back Guy Orton, for his first senior game of the year after a back injury ruled him out of the early part of the season. Alex Overs also comes back in after suffering a hamstring strain in round one.
Coolamon lose Max Hillier to a concussion he sustained in the win over Turvey Park. He ended up spending a night in hospital and is hopeful of receiving a doctor's clearance next week.
Jake Barrett, Joe Redfern and Luke Redfern have been given the all clear however after missing last weekend's representative clash through injury.
