Wanderers players Piper Lockley, Tia Lyons and goalkeeper Samantha Emms were all chosen to trail for W-League side Canberra United's winter program in the nation's capital on Tuesday night.
About 30 players took part in the trial, with the final squad expected to be announced within the next couple of days.
The program is designed to bridge the gap between the NPL and the elite W-League.
"It's obviously a great opportunity because that's the feeder to the Canberra-based W-League side," Lyons said.
"Before we joined the NPL competition over there, these were the opportunities that just weren't available to regional girls.
"All three girls came away very appreciative to be given a chance, and I assume the squad will be basically cut in half.
The squad selected will get the chance to train in Canberra once a week.
The Wanderers women's side will be looking for their second win of the season when they travel to Woden-Weston on Sunday afternoon.
The men's side will be looking to build on a strong when they clash with Weston Molonglo in Canberra on Saturday afternoon.
The Wanderers are equal second on the National Premier League Canberra Two table after dispatching Southern Tablelands 6-0 last week.
