Mitchell has assembled a young side from the best of the four Wagga clubs have to offer for the clash at Leeton No.1 Oval.
He's looking for them to take their chance to impress selectors and earn a place in the Southern Inland representative side for the Brumbies Provincial Tournament .
"It's a genuine trial and positions are up for grabs," Mitchell said.
"I don't think there is any better way to do it than go head-to-head as some blokes have been found out before in rep footy.
"They are good at club level and when it comes to rep they are not up to it so this is a step before that.
"It is rep footy but what is does is show us who can excel in the situation and who is not quite there yet."
Mitchell isn't worried about the team's age.
Instead he sees it as an advantage.
"I think it will be a good, young, energetic squad that might surprise a few people," Mitchell said.
With a young side taking on a large contingent of Leeton and Griffith players Mitchell is looking for a strong defensive effort.
"We can't expect it to just happen for us," he said.
"We have to d-up pretty well."
Ag College's Matt Harris has been named as captain.
