Then the Forest Hill Fire Brigade is looking for you.
Peter Bye, senior member of the brigade, said they are looking for more members to sign up.
"We're the primary fire service for the Forest Hill and Gumly Gumly area and respond to approximately 50 incidents a year around here," he said.
"We also support other Rural Fire Brigades throughout the wider Riverina."
Mr Bye has been a volunteer with the RFS for more than 18 years and with the Forest Hill Brigade for more than six.
"I have loved every second of it," he said.
"Some of the memorable jobs include the Allonville Hotel fire, the public school fire and we were also involved in Junee in 2006."
All the training is supplied, new members just need a moderate level of fitness.
"It's 100 per cent volunteer and we accept that people live busy lives," he said.
"We do train once a fortnight and we have monthly meetings and we ask that people try to make those to maintain skillset."
Mr Bye said they respond to a range of incidents, including grass, bush and structure fires, vehicle accidents and fires and aviation emergencies.
"The Brigade is one of two of Rural Fire Brigades in the Riverina equipped with a compressed air breathing apparatus and the only RFB with an urban pumper," he said.
"Its [the pumper's] main purpose is to allow us to better combat structural fires, car fires, motor vehicle accidents and aviation incidents within our primary response area.
"It means our crew can also help Fire and Rescue NSW with major incidents."
If interested in signing up, the Forest Hill Fire Brigade is open every Sunday from 10am until 12pm, and every second Tuesday from 6pm until 8pm (the next one being May 7).
