Two new 11 megalitre reservoirs are being built at Willians Hill to replace the existing open-air reservoir, which has reached the end of its life span.
Riverina Water General Manager Andrew Crakanthorp said the projects signal Riverina Water's investment in its water supply network.
"This is an important time as these projects will further ensure customers have safe and reliable drinking water when they need it," Mr Crakanthorp said.
"It's especially exciting as from early May, we'll see foundation works start at both sites."
In 2018, site works including low-level blasting were completed at Willans Hill to prepare the site for the reservoir construction.
The construction of a new 4.5-megaliters reservoir at Glenoak will meet the growing residential demand in nearby Lloyd.
"By adding these new reservoirs to our water supply network, we're ensuring water security for customers now and well into the future," Mr Crakanthorp said.
The Glenoak reservoir is expected to be finished by November 2019 and the Willans Hill reservoirs are expected to be finished by March 2020.
