The Murringo trainer-driver struck twice with two at juicy odds at Riverina Paceway.
First Barkway Gazelle broke through for her first win as a seven-year-old before Rodanthe Nights scored his first win in two years.
The 10-year-old overcame barrier 11 to win his first race since joining Hoy at $26.
He'd only been placed twice since winning at Fairfield in April 2017, but put in a career-best effort to win in a mile rate of 1:55.4.
Hoy thought a harder track suited.
"He had a long spell before I got him, so he was off the scene for a fair while, but has been a real funny horse to sort out," Hoy said.
It was a win a long time in the making for Barkway Gazelle ($19) but it came only six months after her debut.
Hoy was pleased she finally put it all together at start 16.
"She had been overracing a little bit but today she was a bit more relaxed," he said.
