Collingullie-GP rounded out their preparation for round one with a 38-point win over Farrer League premiers Marrar at Crossroads Oval on Saturday.
Gestier was one of many Demons missing, with the premiership coach sitting the game out due to minor hamstring soreness.
Gestier said he will be right to face Griffith in round one on Saturday week.
"Absolutely," Gestier said.
"It was only precautionary on Saturday. It's better to be watchful."
Gestier will come back into a Demons' team that will be missing full-forward Marc Geppert against Griffith. The Collingullie-GP spearhead is unavailable for round one.
John Buchanan and Blake Harper played in attack in Gestier and Geppert's absence, adding to the Demons' options up forward.
Gestier was happy with what the reigning premiers got out of both trials.
"Yeah it was good but it goes up tenfold in two weeks," he said.
"I got enough out of the two games and saw all the players I needed to."
Nick Perryman was again a standout for the Demons in their second trial, while Blake Harper, Harry Radley and James Demby showed positive signs.
Just like last season, Gestier believes the Demons will improve as the year goes on.
"We'll be missing a few in round one but we'll build on the side throughout the year," he said.
