Mr Fyfe, a Uranquinty-based stock carter, and Mr Wood, an Ardlethan-based farmer, both decided to forgo their defining physical feature for the greater good.
"To see how bad the drought is, it's a very sad process," Mr Fyfe said on Saturday.
"We're just trying to help as much as we can.
"The other fella [Mr Wood] and I pulled our heads together to see what we can do to help.
"He's had a mullet for years and I've had a beard for years and realised we can cut them off and see how much money we can raise."
Asked about how he felt about losing his mullet, Mr Wood said it was all good.
"It's all for a good cause and to get the boys around to have a good time," Mr Wood said.
"It's about raising money and if someone benefits from it, then it's good."
While the final tally is still being counted, it was about $800 before the event on Saturday.
