The Swans will head into the clash with the defending premiers CSU knowing that they have the ability to defeat them having done so three weeks ago on their way to finishing the regular season undefeated.

Coach Trevor Richards said his girls are just excited to be out on the field.

"They are looking forward to it but the girls also just love playing footy," he said.

"To be in the grand final is just a bonus for them."

The Swans will be heading into the game treating it as a normal game and not putting any extra emphasis on it.

"We have played pretty well as season," he said.

"The girls were a little bit disappointed with the way they played against Brookdale.

"I wasn't there, but I think it might have been the case of the girls knowing they had already made it through to the final and were coasting.

"We will just be playing the way we have been all season. Be aggressive and keep head over the ball and making sure we are putting our best foot forward."

The previous meeting between the two sides saw the Swans come away with a 16-point victory and the Griffith side played without a bench. Richards is hopeful this won't be the case on Friday.

"It was a tough game against them last time, and we are expecting the same this week," he said.

"They came home strong last time, but we managed to hold them out with one less player.

"We should have two on the bench this time around."

At this stage, Richards believes his side will only be without one player for Friday night's grand final.

"Maddy Smith is away overseas," he said.

"She is getting back into the country on Friday and was gutted that she wouldn't be able to play.

"She has played really well this season, and we will miss her."

The game will be the second to be played at Apex Park on Friday. The third-place playoff between Riverina Lions and Snowy Mountains getting underway at 6pm before CSU and Griffith face off at 7.30pm.
