The much-loved donkey family at the Botanic Gardens Zoo has a lot to celebrate - Bubba's first birthday, the renovations to their home are complete and mum Jenny is due soon with her third foal.
Kira McBeath, zoo curator, said they were excited to be celebrating Bubba's first birthday.
"In the past year, he has been going really well,' she said.
"He's really docile and I have started a bit of basic training with him and he loves his pats and his scratches."
Bubba's mum Jenny's quest for love captured the hearts of the community in 2014 and it took nearly a year to find her Mr Right.
Forrest, as the community dubbed her new husband in line with the movie couple in Forrest Gump, moved to Wagga from Tamworth in 2015.
Ms McBeath said the community have gone on to name their offspring in line with the movie and will have the chance to name Jenny's third foal.
"She should be due around roughly around the school holidays, so end of April," she said.
"I am hoping for a girl."
Ms McBeath said the process will be the same as with Bubba and Junior and hopes to see some unique names thrown into the mix.
"We might try to stick to the Forrest theme, but we are running out of characters," she said.
