Food and Wine Festival will host Trev's Tasty Treats and other local businesses

Owner of Trev's Tasty Treats, Trevor Skein, said the favourite part about his job is serving people and seeing the smiles on their faces.

"I love seeing the happy faces on the kids and the adults as well because it's not just the kids who love the ice cream," he said.

"I haven't driven around the street for 10 years, I do events around the town.

"From the Riverina BMW Food and Wine Festival to the Gears and Beers festival."

Mr Skein is 71 years old and while he misses driving around town to see his regulars, there is plenty of work to keep him busy.

"I do about 35 events a year," he said.

"The insurance was too expensive and some kids would try to ride on the back and it became a bit dangerous so I switched things up.

"Over the years, it's created about $75,000 for charity."

Mr Skein said the clear favourites among his customers are the sundaes and the simple chocolate-topped ice creams.

"If I could only have one flavour for the rest of my life, it would be cherry ripe," he said.

Trev's Tasty Treats is just one of the food vans heading to the Riverina BMW Food and Wine Festival this week.

"People should come out and support a good cause," Mr Skein said.

"There will be good entertainment and plenty of great food to be had."

The annual event organised by Wollundry Rotary is on this Saturday from 3pm to 11pm.

Attendees should note the venue has been changed to the Victory Memorial Gardens and tickets are $20, only available at the gate.

The entry fee includes a complimentary festival wine tasting glass or stubbie holder, and free water bottle from Eyecare Plus.

This entry fee also gives you access to the festival and all on stage entertainment.

Patrons are encouraged to take their own picnic blanket and chairs, but this event does not allow BYO alcohol or food.

The event page also states that no dogs are allowed.

Organisers of the Wagga Food and Wine Festival give charity groups the chance to benefit from the event.

Since the festival began in 2002, more than $300,000 has been donated to Wagga community groups and this year the beneficiary is Country Hope.

In 2017, the Wollundry Rotary Club, which organises the festival, donated $40,000 to the Riverina Cancer Care Centre. Thousands of people are expected.
