Bernie Hewitt has won his second feature in a row at Young taking out the $30,000 Young Pacers Cup (2480m) in a thriller.
After winning the Cherry Festival Cup with Mackeral in November, Hewitt added the Young's biggest piece of silverware to his collection with success in the group three on Saturday.
Make Mine Heaven produced an all the way victory, denying Spare Me Days an unprecedented fourth straight victory in the feature race.
Spare Me Days put in a strong effort sitting without cover and despite a late dive Brad Hewitt finished a head away from his uncle.
Amanda Turnbull steered Conviction to third for trainer Steve Turnbull.
It was Make Mine Heaven's 11th career victory and her fourth win in five starts.
"She's been going through the grades and is stepping into Group three company now," Bernie Hewitt said.
"It was always going to be a tough race, she held them off pretty well.
"I knew he [Spare Me Days] would keep coming, it was a good finish and a great race."
Make Mine Heaven's slick final quarters of 27.6s and 28.7s set a mile rating of 1:58.5
The $18,000 winner's prizemoney is the most lucrative win of her 32 start career.
Earlier in the night, Amanda Turnbull won the $20,000 Young Derby with race favourite Shoobee Doo, and Nathan Xuereb made the trip from Londonderry worthwhile for trainer Michael Xuereb winning the $20,000 Young Oaks with Bella Clare.
Young's meeting on Wednesday features the final two races of the Nic Dewar Memorial series.
