It continued their horror run after being bowled out for less than 90 twice by Wagga City in the final round of the season.
Vice-captain Alex Smeeth thought their inconsistency cost them.
"We just ran out of steam I think with a couple of injuries and myself having to go home," Smeeth said.
"But regardless we had such a patchy season.
"We had two or three really good games where we dominated teams and then played a lot of games of cricket where we got beat really, really easily.
"You don't compete in finals if you have seasons like that."
Lake Albert were 1-56 around drinks before being bowled out by 151.
Up against an in-form Dave Bolton is was never going to be enough.
