I am 35 and happily married. A year ago I met someone through some friends. Nothing happened, we just went out for a few drinks and socialised, but we really hit it off. We had a very similar sense of humour and similar backgrounds.
The lady in question was in her mid-20s and I think about her all the time. Way too much, probably.
She has moved on but I want to know how to get her out of my head. I feel sad that I’ll probably never see her again, although I’m not so stupid as to have done anything to ruin my marriage.
I do miss our times together though. We certainly had a connection. I think if I had been more decisive we would have entered some sort of relationship.
I'm sure she had feelings for me. This is eating me up and affecting my marriage which is solid, just lacks connection and depth.
AGONY AUNT
Sometimes in life someone comes along who rattles our cage. That doesn’t mean we should act upon it.
I think perhaps this lady came along at a time when you were feeling a little low in your marriage and you may have blown it out of proportion.
I suggest you just move on and get your head and heart back in your marriage before you lose it all. There can be nothing gained by continuing with your thoughts or indeed action.
Go and be happy with the one you have.
