Wagga Mardi Gras organiser Holly Conroy has been organising sponsors, floats and everything else in between.
Ms Conroy said told The Daily Advertiser she hoped Wagga’s first Mardi Gras would help show them it is okay to be their true selves.
“It means so much to the region – the LGTBI youth and the general LGTBI population in Wagga is massive, and they’re the people that are too scared to go out and do things in the street because they’re worried about what other people will say,” she said.
