The seven-year-old is the top weight for the $20,000 feature and, even with apprentice jockey Josh Richard's two-kilogram claim, will carry 60.5kg.
But it's a drop in class for the Clown who has won eight of his 35 starts. The last of those was in the Ted Ryder Prelude (1600m) at Wagga in December. He then ran second in the Ted Ryder Cup before tackling the Cowra and Bega Cups.
"At this stage we want to go but we want to wait until the morning to make a decision," Heywood said.
"We're going out on a dirt track and he's never been on it before so we want to make sure he's right.
"We were going to trial him (at Wagga on Friday) but thought we'd go out there instead. It's good to support these meetings... He goes good over 1400m, he's won over it before but he's got to carry a bit of weight."
Fellow Wagga trainers Trevor Sutherland and Maree Hopkins have Willy White Socks and Sam, respectively, in the seven-horse field.
Willy White Socks will be having his 70th start and chasing his first win since taking out the Forbes Cup last August, while Sam won a maiden at Tumbarumba two starts ago and followed up with a second in a class one at Tumut.
