Conditions appeared to be quite good - until we started shooting.
Then we had several wind changes from right to left so the usual Lockhart wind demons were at play.
Nevertheless, Hubert and Ben both had it figured out and shot very well.
Wayne had a go of Ben's rifle at the end which he exclaimed was as smooth as a Rolls Royce!
John Smoothy will celebrate his 90th birthday on Friday, March 8.
So for those who would like to join us we will be having lunch at the Ex Services Club at 12.30pm before the shoot on Saturday, March 9.
John has been a shooter for most of his life and I believe started shooting target rifle at the Katoomba range.
He is also a member of the Leeton Rifle Club and still shoots there occasionally as well.
Hope to see you there!
Coming up in three weeks is the Lyndhurst Prize Meeting March 16 to 17, two-day shoot.
A great country shoot for those who can make it.
Reminder – Club membership fees now due.

ULYSSES
TWO Wednesday riders were spotted at Culcairn by some of the early starters for the Mornington ride.
It appeared to be Oscar and Thomo out on their lonesome.
Those who went to the rally all left in small groups of three or four and each group took a different path down and back.
Our trio left at 8am on Saturday morning (23rd) and traversed the mountains over Mount Hotham to Omeo and then went on to Lakes Entrance where we stayed on the Saturday and Sunday nights.
On Monday (25th) morning we took off for Mornington at about 8am arriving at the Rally venue at the Mornington Racecourse around 3pm.
The venue was quite good but some of the facilities had to be left out of the picture due to the low registration numbers - 1300 registered and only 1200 showed up which was very disappointing because the location lent itself to be a cracker event.
By way of comparison 6200 attended the Coffs Coast event a few years ago.
Not to worry, we all had a good time and drooled over the new bikes on display.
Our mate, Ian, was in heaven.
He had never had so many op shops in one spot where he could find a bargain - and he did.
The week went quickly and at the AGM on Saturday afternoon the topic of conversation sliding membership numbers with all and sundry going off to address the situation at their respective branches.
We left on Sunday morning with Don and Ian opting to travel home up the Hume and I stayed the night at Whittlesea with family.
The next three rallies will be held at Lismore, Mandurah and Warrick respectively, so we have a bit of riding to do.
The heat just about killed us and hopefully it will soon abate.
See you on the tarmac.
