The Yanco Agricultural High student was in a class above as he claimed the impressive figures of 9-2 off four overs at a CHS gala day at Narrandera on Wednesday.
It included his first hat-trick and three wicket maidens.
However the 16-year-old isn't getting too carried away after a standout performance.
"I was a bit of a fluke," Yelland said. "I just tried to put it on the spot and kept on hitting the stumps to get a bit of a roll on."
Looking to bowl full and straight the left-arm paceman, who is better known as Mr Cricket at school, did most of the work all by himself.
After combining with younger brother Max for the first wicket with a catch at first slip, Yelland bowled seven of his nine victims.
It included all three dismissals in his hat-trick.
After missing out earlier in the innings, where he took three wickets in four balls during his second over, Yelland wasn't to be denied his hat-trick a second time.
After taking a wicket in the last ball of his third over, Yelland picked up two more in the first two balls of his last over.
The teenager from Manildra finished with four wickets for the over, as well as conceding one run and bowling a wide.
But it didn't take his teammates too long to wrap up the 136-run victory against Narrandera High School, bowling them out for 15.

Coach Nathan Cassilles could not have been more impressed.
"He bowled really well from the start," Cassilles said.
"It's the best I've seen him bowl and he just kept putting it on the stumps, kept taking wickets and putting pressure on the rest of Narrandera.
"You couldn't ask for much more."
Unfortunately Yanco Ag couldn't back up the impressive win in their second match of the day.
Despite bowling Murrumbidgee High School out for 56, where Yelland picked up his 10th wicket for the day, they fell one run short of the win.
Opening the batting Yelland finished unbeaten on 38.
