Crews were called to an Ashmont address on Callaghan Street in the early hours of Saturday morning, February 23, to a large number of people engaged in a fight.
Wagga Police Inspector Andrew Spliet said a large number of people were trying to incite a fight with some other people that were living in the nearby vicinity.
"As a result, a number of police attended and quelled the situation and police stayed in the area for a number of hours," Inspector Spliet said.
"There was one lady that was injured as a result of an altercation with the other party.
"We called in specialist resources, including the Public Order and Rights Squad, as well as Operational Support Group police and PolAir to assist with high visibility policing in that area."
The woman, who police are not identifying, was treated for hand injuries at Wagga Base Hospital and police are still investigating those involved.
Wagga Police will continue with this operation until it is no longer needed and are still investigating those involved.
"We will be out to try and locate and identify people that may have committed any offences during that operation," Inspector Spliet said.
"There were a number of people, anywhere from about 80 to 100 people that were in the vicinity.

"The actual number of those involved in any offences are still undetermined."
While one woman was injured during the altercation, there are no other reports that others or police were injured or property being damaged.
Police believe that funeral attendees from outside the city were staying with people in the Ashmont area.
"It was fairly vocal and police believe some people were carrying sticks and similar items, but no other weapons and as far as I'm aware, no other injuries," Inspector Spliet said.
"We're engaging housing to see if they can assist us, those people living in those houses are responsible for the guests that they have and their actions.
"No charges have been laid in relation to that matter as yet."
Wagga Police are out and speaking with members of the community and are collaborating with the Department of Housing to look at solutions.
"We're trying to get an idea in relation to the tensions and the causes, so we'll continue those activities and we have the resources and capabilities to be able to respond to any incidents that do occur down there," Inspector Spliet said.
"We're working with other departments such as housing to see if we can come up with some other solutions in relation to these people that may have been involved in this incident."
This comes as police intervened a brawl that broke out outside the Ashmont Mall last week.
