Jack De Belin has been the centre of attention in a off-season of turmoil.
The Cootamundra product is facing an aggravated sexual assault charge following an incident in December.
De Belin entered a not guilty plea in Wollongong Local Court last week.
Australian coach Mal Meninga said anyone facing serious charges like De Belin should be suspended until the case was determined.
However the Blues coach was far from as assertive when speaking to The Daily Advertiser on Thursday.
"It's very tricky," Fittler said.
"There is a lot of people with opinions at the moment and I think I'll keep mine to myself at the moment."
Fittler was in Wagga as part of the Hogs For Homeless campaign.
He has spent a week on the road starting in Port Macquarie with plenty of stops on the way.
They've played footy on the beach, sold sheep but Fittler said the highlight of the ride, his seventh to date, was helping deliver a new bus, worth nearly $150,000, to the students at Gadara School for Specific Purporses in Tumut on Thursday.
The idea was sparked during a Hogs For Homeless visit in 2016 and Fittler was thrilled to have helped it come to fruition.
"The bus is brilliant," he said.
"It's a brand new bus, and their last one was just about had it, and to watch the kids pile on was a highlight without doubt."
Taking part in a footy clinic at Parramore Park, Fittler was thrilled to see so many Wagga youngsters getting involved in the sport.
Despite uncertainty of De Belin, Fittler believes there are good early signs for the Blues.
"Two games have been played and I thought the back line for the Indigenous team were outstanding, and most of them are Blues players, and I thought the Blues players for the Roosters were outstanding as well," he said.
"It is a real key that they go back to their club, really get invested and be the best players. They were in the first two games which are really good signs."
