The Bathurst-based chain, which already has six other locations in NSW, posted job ads this week for sales staff.
“We are opening a new store in Wagga,” the chain posted on its Facebook page.
“Do you know someone who lives in or around Wagga and would like to be part of a new, exciting business? If so, please share this post as we are looking for staff for our new store.”
The post said applicants “must be over 18 years old” be “fun, bright and bubbly”, have a “strong work ethic” and “love retail”.
Wagga City Council is still evaluating the chain’s application to open in a currently vacant store at 190 Baylis Street near the Tompson Street intersection.
Flirt owner Jeff Oliver told The Daily Advertiser that he was “very confident” that the application would be granted.
“Why else would be be posting employment ads?” he said.
The council denied the chain’s application to open in the same spot in late 2017.
Flirt’s application had prompted objections from nearby shop owners concerned about the impact on their sales to families with young children.
Mr Oliver previously said he was removing adult DVDs and magazines from the store’s inventory to avoid having to apply for a ‘restricted premises” from council.
