Utilising barrier one, reinsman Jordan Seary was able to hold off an early battle for the lead to be able to dictate terms from in front.
After a moderate beginning to the 2582-metre trip, Ned Pepper had plenty left in reverse.
Rounding the turn for home Seary had shaken off boss Bruce Harpley, who loomed as the only possible danger with Roll One Over, to cruise to the finish line.
They went on to win by 14.1 metres in a mile rate of 2:00:9.
After driving Ned Pepper to victory in the Griffith Pacers Cup in November, the Junee reinsman was thrilled to be involved in another feature win with Maimuru trainer Katie Jenner.
“That’s our second cup this season and we came second in the Blayney Cup,” Seary said.
“He’s been very consistent in the top grade.”
After winning the Junee Pacers Cup two years ago, the eight-year-old couldn’t quite progress through his grades.
However a win in Griffth’s feature race ended a 16-race losing streak and he’s been more than competitive in cup races across the region throughout the season.
After his Griffith win, he was second in the Blayney Cup plus the Cherry Festival Cup in Young.
He also finished fourth in the Temora Pacers Cup last month and came into the affair with a seventh in the Junee Pacers Cup last Sunday.
Jenner was keen to use the good draw and Seary was surprised by the gate speed shown by the son of Dawn Ofa New Day after initially being concerned he couldn’t hold off an early burn.
“Katie was keen to lead, I’ve just never drawn good enough to hunt him out of the gate before,” Seary said.
“I didn’t really know what to expect, but I was surprised with his gate speed and when he led he was just travelling good the whole way.
“Down the back I had them all off the bit chasing”
The win also takes the eight-year-old through the $100,000 prizemoney mark.
