In a grand final rematch, the Bulls are looking to take a win over the Blues for the first time this season.
They’ve lost a Twenty20 and one-day clash in what has been an up and down title defence.
Lake Albert moved to third last round but have struggled to string together consistent performances.
Coming off a big win over Kooringal Colts, Alex Smeeth is out to extend their perfect record in the longest format in their biggest test to date.
“We know from last season how difficult South Wagga are to beat, but know two-day cricket is probably our stronger form” Smeeth said.
“We’re going out with the confidence we can win.”
Lake Albert has home advantage with the clash, which spans Saturday and Sunday, at Rawlings Park Turf.
Smeeth believes bowling will be the key to the clash.
“We have to bowl really well and take our catches,” he said. “That is something that certainly let us down in the couple of games against them last year – we created a couple of chances early and didn’t take them.
“They have some important players and if they bat for long periods they will get a good score so we have to bowl tightly and take our chances.”
