A Wagga City Council spokesperson said it was a small plane involved in the incident.
“It is understood the plane with one pilot and three passengers on board experienced difficulties while landing on the runway,” the spokesperson said.
“The cause is unknown at this time and will be investigated by the Air Transport Safety Bureau.
“It is understood the condition of the passengers and the pilot was checked by the attending ambulance personnel.”
One scheduled commercial flight with Qantas was delayed while the runway was cleared.
“The runway has reopened,” the spokesperson said.
A passenger on the Qantas flight said they had already boarded and listened to the safety message when they were asked to get off the plane.
He said from his understanding there was an issue with the undercarriage of the plane not coming down and about five police and paramedics attended the scene.
