Councillors on Tuesday night requested a report into how the council could improve its approach around traffic issues by being more “proactive” with “clear pathways for decision making”.
Cr Dan Hayes told the meeting he had experienced issues when trying to get a response for complaints.
“I put this motion up having been on the traffic committee for just over two years,” he said.
“During that time I have noticed some of the challenges and also some of the opportunities with our management of traffic related issues.
“I have noticed shifting sands over accountability and decision making over the two years; sometimes issues like parking have been handled by the committee and other times it’s internally by staff.”
Cr Hayes said had passed on complaints from residents but had not been getting feedback on why they were dismissed or taken on board or how they were handled.
