Turvey Park Fire and Rescue were called at about 1.10 this morning regarding a home, on 267 Fernleigh Road, which was alight.
Two crews extinguished the blaze with an AP 4732 pump retained tank and a retained tanker.
Station officer Patrick Albany said the house is “severely damaged by fire” and the house was unattended.
“On arrival the occupant was not in attendance and the cause is being investigated by the police,” Mr Albany said.
This follows news of a family’s Mount Austin home that was set alight on Friday night, January 18, on Hunter Street.
Wagga Police said the home is “still under investigation in relation to the cause” of the fire.
The search for a man who went missing at Oura Beach yesterday at 1pm will resume this morning as he has not been located.
Detective Chief Inspector Andrew Spliet said the police and State Emergency Service volunteers were still “conducting a search” for the missing man off Oura Reserve.
“The search will kick off again at 8.30am by police divers and the SES,” Inspector Spliet said.
Wagga SES unit commander Daniel Mahoney said he was unable to give details of the search as it was a “police matter”.
