The Bulldogs have only won once this season, and Wagga City have lost the same number of matches, but RSL have the runs on the board.
They will resume at 7-211 on Saturday with captain James Richards looking to add to their total.
An extra 17 overs are available in their innings, but how long they bat reduces how long
Richards hopes the can get the balance right.
“We have to bat on as I don’t think 211 is enough to defend against them,” Richards said. “I know it does take time out of the game, and gives us less time to bowl them out, but they’ve been saying the pitch at McPherson always plays a lot better the second week.”
Richards let from the front scoring 89 runs in a big partnership with Todd Henderson (79) as the pair put on 164 after coming together with the side at 2-4.
Richards was pleased with how they recovered despite losing 5-36 as they chased quicker runs late on the first day.
The Bulldogs head into the clash without two of their strike bowlers.
Ben Willis and Sam Perry are both not playing which limits options with the ball.
