Police are investigating the tragic death of a toddler in the Riverina on Sunday.

Emergency services were called to a home in Ashmont, just after 10.45am, following reports of concern for the welfare of a 15-month-old boy.
NSW Ambulance paramedics performed CPR at the scene, before taking the boy to Wagga Base Hospital where he was declared deceased.
Officers from Riverina Police District will investigate the circumstances surrounding the boy’s death.
A post mortem examination will be conducted to determine the cause of death.
