Wagga City Council’s environmental education officer Sam Parsell said it was all about the little changes.
“We are calling it ‘Making a green 2019’,” she said.
“Essentially, we are asking people to make a sustainable pledge and sharing their successes and their slips.
“Here at Sustainable Wagga, we will be sharing our pledges and tips and tricks.”
Each month will have a different theme based on seasons and events.

“There will be lots of prizes, workshops and events throughout the year to keep people motivated,” Ms Parsell said.
“Active travel, use reusable bags and cups are all small changes.
“We want to do this in a fun way to encourage people to get on board.”
Ms Parsell said it is all about reducing the environmental footprint and waste.
“Every small thing counts, but when we do it together that is when we can make big changes,” she said.
The Sustainable Wagga’s Facebook page will have all the information uploaded.
