Wagga Police Inspector Peter Macleay said yesterday afternoon, a boat was towing two people on a doughnut.
“It appears the navigator of the boat misjudged the distance whilst negotiating a turn or a bend,” he said.
“The two people have unfortunately collided with a small tinny that was parked near the bank.”
An Ambulance Service spokesman said four ambulance crews and NSW Police were called to the Snowy Mountains Highway just after 5pm on Sunday.
“A 26-year-old female had deep lacerations to her arm and head bleeding,” the spokesman said.
“A 26-year-old male had injuries to the head, stomach and chest.
“Both were being treated on the scene and their injuries were not considered to be life-threatening.”
Police Inspector Macleay said they have been taken to Canberra Hospital and they are continuing to investigate the circumstances.
“It’s just a reminder for people to be careful on the water,” he said.
