In a repeat of her heat win, the Grant Forrest-trained mare utilised barrier one to take out the $15,000 final as a $34 chance.
After moving to Leeton 18 months ago, Forrest was thrilled to take the win.
“It is good to win any race let alone a big one at Leeton,” Forrest said.
“I’m really happy.”
Taking cover on Our Summer Bay ($2.90) after sustaining pressure at the start from Carramar Arapaho ($26), Jennas Romance delivered a devastating sprint to take the biggest win of her career.
Forrest was pleased his pre-race planned worked out.
“We had to burn early as I had in mind when looking at the form which ones I wanted to hand up to,” he said.
“We were lucky enough to hand up to the right horse at the right time and she got a nice trip in transit after that, got the soft the trip and come with one run.”
It took the daughter of Million Dollar Cam almost two years to win her first race, which came at her 17th start, but has really turned the corner.
She won three times in 2018, plus recorded all eight of her minor placings, and started the new year on the best note.
It’s been reward for effort.
“I’ve put in a heap of hard yards with her,” Forrest said.
“She was a bit of a nightmare early on hanging and pulling and it has been a long process and I’m lucky enough to have an owner in Trevor Rice who is a patient man and she’s put things together with age.
“She’s turned the corner in the last six to 12 months.”
It was part of a strong local feel to Carnival Of Cups night.
Euroley trainer David Kennedy took out the Golden Apple Super Store Final with Shes Sporty.
After a narrow win in her heat last week, the four-year-old looked to have taken plenty of benefit with a strong performance.
Despite being unable to find the lead early, Shes Sporty ($2.90 fav) soon gained cover before running away from her rivals in the home straight.
She went on to defeat Deeceeten ($3.70) by 10.1 metres in the slick mile rate of 1:57.9.
Meanwhile for the second year running the winner of the Ladies Invitational Race has set a new track record for the 1758 metres.
Three Summas took 0.6 seconds off the record set by Lets Katchmeifucan to take out the penalty free race.
Racing out the grade first up since his win in the group three Canola Cup at Eugowra in October, Three Summas clocked a mile rate of 1:55.5 to win for Jessica Prior.
The son of Somebeachsomewhere defeated Ellen Bartley’s pair Random Task and Man Hands to make it four wins straight for Victorian trainer Russell Jack.
