Station officer Jason McDonnell said their service needs to be available 24 hours, seven days a week.
“Of course, we hope that nothing happens, but an emergency could arise today which we would have to respond to,” he said.
“It’s a bit hard sometimes, but we try to make the best of it and have a nice lunch together.

The crew of four – Mr Mcdonnell, Craig Diversi, Ben Wood and David Simpson – are rostered on for 24 hours until 8am on Boxing Day.
“We hope everyone has a safe and happy Christmas,” Mr Mcdonnell said.
The firefighters aren’t the only ones missing out on their Christmas Day.
Paramedics, police, nurses, doctors, hospital staff and are just of the Wagga workers giving up their time this festive season to serve the community.
