Liam Ferreira was born at 2.43am in the morning weighing 3.6 kilograms.
Parents, Ignus Ferreira and Ashlee Harmer, travelled from Tumut to Wagga Base Hospital.
“We are really excited now that he is born and he is a wonderful gift,” he said.
“He was due the 31st so he was a bit early.
“We have been here since the 23rd and Ashlee was having contractions so it was a bit of a rough ride.”
Mr Ferreira said he thought Liam “would go alright” having to share his birthday with Christmas Day.
“He will probably just get double the presents,” he said.
“He will be spoiled.”
Lee Pearce, a midwife at the Wagga Base Hospital, said she has worked a few Christmases but this is the Christmas first baby.
“We wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a safe and Happy New Year,” she said.
