Inter Church Council organising committee member Geoff Gray said it was an “amazing night” at the Victory Memorial gardens.
“The weather was beautiful, it wasn’t too hot and it wasn’t windy.
“We estimate the audience was at about the 2000 to 2500 mark.
“That’s great and we were really encouraged by that amount of people. The community of Wagga came together to celebrate the birth of Jesus at Christmas.”
The event included family activities and a retelling of the nativity story.
Mr Gray thanked the event’s sponsors and Wagga City Council for their support.
The family carols also helped raise more than $1000 to support Scripture teachers.
Mr Gray said he was happy with the fundraising as any amount “was a blessing”.
