Helen Cooper said it was all about appreciating the staff and the “fantastic” job they do.
“We have a Christmas decoration competition,” she said.
“Then we also had a photography competition where we asked staff over 24 hours on December 13, to take photos of what they see around the hospital.
“We had over 150 submissions.”
Ms Cooper said the photos arranged from team shots to silly faces on long shifts.
“The winning shot was of ED nurses treating a child,” she said.
Director of Nursing and Midwifery Michele Coghlan said since moving into the new hospital decorations on a new life.
“Decorations have always been taken up by the staff with great gusto,” she said.
“The judges were looking for great themes, creativity and imagination as well as Christmas spirit, staff and patient participation.”
The Surgical Unit won the prize for best Christmas decorations with their theme of Aussie Bush.
