While waking up sore and sorry on Tuesday, the group of McPherson, Kylie Baker, James Kennedy and Dan Kennedy successfully completed the Cancer Council’s Longest Day 72-hole challenge.
They teed off at 6am and finished their fourth round of 18 holes just on 6.15pm. After playing stroke for the first 36 holes, the group rotated shots in pairs for the final two rounds.
“It was a great day for a great cause,” McPherson said.
“I’m paying for it today. My shoulders feel like I’ve bench pressed 200 kilos about 1000 times.
“Hopefully next year we’ll get a few more groups and do it all again.”
The group are closing in on the $3000 mark in fundraising. Already $171,000 has been raised across the country as part of The Longest Day.
